The ichneumon fly is a parasitic wasp that paralyzes
it’s prey and then inserts it’s eggs so that the larvae
will have a living but immobile host to feed upon until they mature
and eat their way out. In private letters, Charles Darwin used this
fly’s example to argue against the idea of a compassionate creator.
